Pass the Torch Collective is a group of young Ghanaian professionals based in Toronto, Canada.
Founded in 2019, the group’s initial intent was to connect with like-minded Ghanaians in Toronto through social activities. After a few gatherings, we recognized that we each hold an interest in helping Ghanaians in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and across the diaspora more broadly. We then held a series of meetings to discuss ideas on how we can best develop this interest into something concrete and impactful. The outcome of these meetings is the Ghanaian Student Scholarship Program.
Our aim is to provide scholarship and mentorship opportunities to young Ghanaians in the GTA. We believe strongly in supporting and developing young people in the community, as we have each benefitted from such support in our individual life journeys.
Ultimately, it is our hope that we may inspire others to also “Pass the Torch.”
